A potent beauty
magic4ce 20.06.2025
Right out of the box Yamaha Storia III needed a set-up. Nut, saddle height and truss rod adjustment was necessary but what a lovely guitar you get! Sounds magnificent with enough low end to shame some dreadnoughts, sufficient volume and sparkling highs. Plugged in it's ok, pickup is very true but on stage you can feel the need for a preamp to fiddle with volume. It has a natural discreet chorus like sound and the sustain feels endless. I can't understand why Yamaha marketed as a beginner guitar this thing of beauty actually good enough for any stage.
Now let's talk about looks. Stunning! Beautiful lacquered finish, gold hardware, open tuners, discret binding but bold red line around the soundhole and, "la piece de resistance" - stained on the inside and a beautiful stancil instead of the paper label. I personally don't like the lacquered neck but I can live with it.
You get more guitar for the money then you expect and that's a great filling.

Received a glitchy guitar with defective strings
Desperado 01.11.2022
I can't say anything much other about this guitar than I received a broken instrument with defective strings, and guitar seemed to never been set up properly. Tuned the high E string and it was broken in 30 seconds!
For this price it is something you would never expect. But is made in China, so that solves the mystery.
