I have denis wick straight mute and its like a night and day in comparison with this. This one is so much more free blowing and intonation is exceptional. Copper makes it sound a bit bright. Definetly the best straight mute in my collection!

Ich habe den Dämpfer vor ca. einen Monat gekauft, davor zwei Jahre lang einen Aluminiumdämpfer (Denis Wick) gehabt . Dabei fand ich, dass der Klang sehr blechern wirkte und vomn der Intonation bei einzelnen Tönen schwer zu stimmen war. Seit ich den von Tom Crown verwende, ist der Klang viel ausgeglichener, die Ansprache wie auch die Intonation viel besser, der Dämpfer stimmt von "ersten Ton" an. Gerade bei Solopassagen, kommt es darauf an, dass man im Register stimmt.

Mit diesen bekommt man eine bessere intonation hin. Ein Bekannter, der mir zum Neukauf riet hat den gleichen Dämpfer aus Kupfer schon seit fast zwanzig Jahren regelmäßig in Gebrauch und ist immernoch damit so zufrieden wie am ersten Tag. Von der Verarbeitung sind die Dämpfer sehr gut verarbeitet.
