Deep singing like the soundsamples, a hefty size windgong for a small price and it does not disappoint, i am thrilled! Sings easy with friction and can be played swell for a windgong because i think it does not crash too fast.
The included mallet is of no use to me. :)
Great value for money... awesome

Great Value

Overall this gong has a wide range of sounds from deep bass to high shimmers which lends itself extremely suitable for sound therapy workers. This gong also reacts particularly well to flumi playing as well as a variety of different density Mike Balter mallets. The gong is finished extremely well and looks very professional on stage. A great gong for a great price!

L
Love My Good Size Wind Gong
LouisaE 03.03.2026
Had this Gong over 6-7 months now, and I sit square in front of it as if sitting in front of the sun. I choose this one because I love the deep resonance of the sound sample on the website, and the reviews about it. Plus is was affordable. I am not disappointed, in fact it has become my meditative vibrational friend, I am still discovering the different tonal voices on different parts of the Gong. It shimmers like the rush of wind if I play with force but I never crash it or strike loudly. I prime it up, play the crescendo mindfully, building up the volume, and then quickly take the mallets off so part of the sound wands, and another part of the sound blooms on - like an orgasmic expression really the way the frequency moves in different directions. Ha ha ha… yeah.

It doesn’t take up too much space in my apartment, I play with flats on other side of me problem free, and I have carried it on public transport to get to a Sound Bath Training course. Was doable, and better to do if not carrying anything else. I had a small trolley of other sound instruments too, and I got there, made it happen okay. Wind gongs are lighter in weight than the Chinese’s Chau Gong cousins.

30 inches was the right size for me - better for me than the 28” or the 32” though I enjoy the sample sounds of those as well from the website. To date, very happy with Thomann’s service, and look forward to purchasing a Chau or Paiste Symphonic Gong of the same size or similar soon. Can’t really stop at one now I am experiencing the magic of them. Makes getting into a meditation state so much organic, more accessible. 🤩✨
