Kessel mit kleinen Zollgrößen und sattem Klang

Ich spiele dieses Set in einer Dreimann-Band bei allerlei Auftritten. Mal große Bühnen im Freien, in Hallen oder Zelten, mal im hintersten Eck einer Kneipe. Gerade die spärlichen Platzverhältnisse in Clubs gaben mir den Anlass, auf ein kleines Schlagzeug zu wechseln. Dieses doch recht kompakte Set überzeugt durch seine Optik und durch seinen Sound. Mit entsprechend guten Fellen bestückt liefern die Kessel einen unerwartet satten Klang. Den Kauf dieses Sets habe ich bisher noch keine Sekunde bereut.

Das Sonor Safari-Set sticht eindeutig unter den Mikro-Kits heraus.

Die Bass liefert, entsprechend befellt, einen satten Sound, der locker mit einer 18er, wenn nicht sogar 20er Bass Drum mithalten kann. Durch die wunderbar warm klingenden Maple-Shells lässt sie sich (ebenfalls entsprechend befellt) jedoch auch auf einen schönen Bepop-Ton stimmen. Das Set ist daher in vielen Bereichen einsetzbar und es muss keinesfalls auf den Einsatz in „kleinen Clubs“ oder „Akustik-Sets“ beschränkt bleiben.

Die Toms klingen warm und offen, die 13er Floor Tom lässt sich tief und punchy stimmen.

Die Qualität des Sets ist Sonor-typisch von hoher Wertigkeit. Ich spiele das Set häufig live, es lässt sich mühelos -auch häufig- auf- und abbauen, bislang gibt es keinen Verschleiß von Teilen, die wackeln oder ähnliches.

Drummer, die wie ich auch gerne mal ihr Set im Kofferraum transportieren möchten, ohne die Rückbank umzuklappen und Kindersitze auszubauen, sollten sich das Safari Kit auf jeden Fall genauer anschauen.
Es ist zwar preislich, auch Sonor-typisch, im höheren Segment anzusiedeln, die Vielseitigkeit und die Qualität dieses Sets machen den Preis jedoch meiner Meinung, insbesondere in Anbetracht der geringen Kesselgrößen in jedem Fall wett.
