Solar Guitars A1.7ROP-29+

My band had demanded tunings as low as double Drop A and I have been searching for the best tool for the job. After playing with a few (admittedly far cheaper) Bass VI models, The Solar ROP-29+ was my final decision and I am happy to report this guitar had done a stellar job.

It comes set up to B standard, and after a quick change to a heavier gauge (I am using Winspear 80 54 40 30 19 15 11) I was able to easily tune to double drop D on the standard tension evertune saddles. The Evertune made the setup a breeze and the way it holds tuning is simply magical. The nut required some very minor filing to accommodate the 80 gauge string.

As a long time user of fishman fluence pickups, I wasn't sure how i would feel about the Duncan solar+ that comes in the guitar, but they are very aggressive pickups and provide a nice sound for the low tunings so I will not be upgrading them.

There was a very minor flaw in the wood on the lower horn, but this is a manufacturing issue and not a shipping problem. The look of the guitar itself is lovely, the open pour of the wood with the red looks really good and far nicer in person as opposed to pictures online.

If you are looking for a guitar to play some stupidly low tuned metal whilst also keeping the upper range with the 7 string that you lose with a Bass VI, this is a great option to add to your arsenal.

Durch die lange Mensur ist Drop E sehr gut spielbar ohne ein übermäßige breites Griffbrett wie bei einer 8-Saiter.

Verarbeitung für den Preis gut genug. Die Bünde sind etwas scharf am Rand aber das stört mich nicht wirklich.

Evertune ist geil wenn man es mal probiert hat und auch richtig eingestellt hat, vor allem für extrem tiefe Tunings.

Farbe in echt viel schöner, gefällt mir von den 4 möglichen Farben des Modells am besten.

Aufpassen nur wegen Saitenstärke zwecks Evertune.

Mit den Ernie Ball 2624 Skinny Top Heavy Bottom komme ich problemlos auf F#-Standard und Drop E.
