Plug-and-play vocal headset

The Shure SM35 is a rugged vocal headset microphone equipped with a condenser capsule. Unlike lightweight presentation headsets that prioritise discreet speech transmission, the SM35 is designed for reliable vocal pickup during even the most high-energy performances. Instead of a thin wire frame, it features a sturdy gooseneck that allows precise microphone positioning, which stays securely in place once adjusted. For outdoor performances, the included windshield features a secure locking mechanism, preventing it from coming loose during use. Included with the microphone is the Shure RPM400 power adapter, allowing the SM35 to connect directly to stage boxes, mixing consoles, or audio interfaces via XLR. This makes the headset immediately ready for traditional wired live sound and recording applications without requiring an additional wireless system. Alternatively, the integrated TQG connector allows operation with compatible Shure wireless systems.

At home on stage

The Shure SM35 is a vocal headset microphone created specifically for live music. Its sturdy construction and rugged materials ensure reliable performance on tour, effortlessly withstanding the rigours of stage use. Despite its sturdy build, the SM35 remains lightweight at just 72 grams, offering a comfortable and secure fit with its padded headband. However, since the headband is not adjustable, trying it on beforehand is recommended. Designed with professional stage applications in mind, the SM35 has a lower frequency limit of 45Hz, subtly rolling off the deepest bass frequencies in a way that enhances its powerful and open sound. With an impressive maximum sound pressure level of 153dB, it can handle even the most intense vocal performances without distortion. Additionally, the tight, unidirectional cardioid polar pattern provides excellent rejection of off-axis sound sources to prevent feedback and signal bleed onstage, whether in use in small clubs, large installations, or arena tours.

Zero stress in any venue

The Shure SM35 is the perfect vocal headset for musicians who need to sing while playing an instrument. Drummers, in particular, often struggle with awkward mic placement due to stands positioned between drums and cymbals. Guitarists singing backing vocals will enjoy greater mobility with the SM35, freeing them from the constraints of a fixed microphone stand. Simple to use and highly effective, the SM35's cardioid capsule offers excellent directionality, ensuring clear and focused sound even in challenging stage environments. This makes it a great option not just for musicians but also for comedians and solo entertainers who want reliable, hassle-free audio with minimal technical adjustments. No matter the venue, the SM35 delivers consistent performance without adding extra stress to a live show.

About Shure

The American company Shure began developing microphones during the early 1930s and is one of the pioneers of the audio engineering sector. Models such as the 55 Unidyne – known to many as the "Elvis microphone" – and the SM57 and SM58 which appeared in the mid-1960s are still ubiquitous in live sound production today. They enjoy cult status among musicians and technicians alike. In the 1990s, Shure introduced the first wireless microphones and in-ear monitoring systems and became a market leader in this field. In addition to microphones, Shure offers a wide range of earphones and headphones for studio and live use, as well as various accessories.

Tired of being wired?

A wireless guitar transmitter may promise total freedom on stage, but for guitarists who sing, a fixed vocal mic can still be a restriction. The solution? The Shure SM35 headset. With sound quality that rivals professional vocal microphones, the SM35 delivers clear, powerful vocals while combining the advantages of a headset design with unrestricted freedom of movement. It's a game-changer for singing keyboardists and drummers, freeing them from the constraints of a fixed mic stand. With the SM35, they can move naturally while playing and singing, making performances feel more fluid and engaging. Thanks to the included RPM400 power adapter, the SM35 can connect directly to stage boxes, mixing consoles, or audio interfaces via XLR. Those who prefer maximum freedom of movement can alternatively use the headset with compatible Shure wireless systems.

Everything you expect fro Shure
Clive 27.06.2016
I bought this as a replacement for an older model headset. I sing backing vocal in a bad but as a drummer I have always found boom held microphones get in the way!

This model is comfortable to wear, easily adjustable and sits comfortably. Sound quality is everything you would expect from Shure, crisp clear tones through the range.

Its minimal weight ensures you hardly notice the fact you are wearing it.

From my perspective, a really good buy and for musicians who need to keep there hands and arms free for playing, this is a really good choice. Highly recommended

Brilliant headset mic

Singing backing vox as a keyboard can be challenging with a fixed mic so was keen to find an alternative. And have to say I'm delighted with the SM35. It stays in place throughout a gig and has a full and rich sound quality.

This thing is well built and sounds great. The kind of quality would I expect from Shure. Clear vocals from behind the drums without having to deal with a mic on a stand.
