Sennheiser HD-280 Pro

I have never been a headphone fan, nor have ever considered buying Sennheiser, because I couldn't afford the more expensive models.
I have already owned the following headphones:
Audiotechnica ATH-M30x - Nice quality but there was an annoying frequency gap. Probably I have had a faulty unit, because I have listened to the ATH-M20x and they sounded absolutely acceptable.
Audiotechnica ATH-M50x - Nice quality but at that price point I don't expect such a disco sound.
Philips SHP-9500 - so bright that my years almost started bleeding. Don't understand why it is so praised in internet.
Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 80 Ohm - Amazing quality. The most cute and comfortable headphones I have ever had! Unfortunately, quite demanding towards the source. The high frequencies are a bit sharp to me, especially when the source is poor. Otherwise, a great professional tool!
AKG K171 mkII - very decent headphones. As many AKG headphones, it lacks a bit of low end to me. Not very comfortable but has a very pleasant sound. I enjoyed it a lot!
AKG K240 mkII - It also lacks depth in the low end. Has a bit boomy and echoing sound to me. Material quality is no match with the others, but it is durable and at that price it is a very nice allrounder.
AKG K271 mkII - decent headphones. Sounded to me as a mixture of the above two. Sound wise, the K171 mkII are superior than the K271 and K240, but the last two are more comfortable in my opinion.
I was really tired of headphones with recessed mids (cheap commercial tricks), lack of depth, dryness, frequency gaps, sharp high frequency peaks, impedance issues and etc.
Unfortunately didn't find what I was looking for, so I bought a Sennheiser HD 280 Pro half an year ago from pure curiosity.
I also found them strange looking at first glance as many people do.
Sound wise, the HD 280 Pro is the best headphone I have ever listened to.
Never felt such pleasure from listening to the music, even on decent stereo speakers and much more expensive headphones than the listed above. I often realize that it is 04:00 o'clock in the morning, but never get tired of listening.
Sound is so balanced, full bodied, with natural timbre, warmth and all it's beauty that makes listening to all kinds of music and sources an endless pleasure...
Very universal headphone - sounds great on every source I have connected it to.
In a world where marketing has replaced quality long ago, I didn't really expect to find such a great product.

J'ai acheté le HD280 PRO après avoir acheté le DT 770 Pro 80 Ohms dont j'étais très insatisfait de sa qualité de son qui était vraiment "carton".
En comparaison du DT 770 80Ohms, le son est largement meilleur rapport qualité/prix.
Le casque isole bien des bruits extérieurs ce qui est pas mal quand on les utilise dans un espace bruyant.
Point négatif : ce qui en est de la qualité de fabrication, c'est du 100 % plastique mais on sent qu'ils sont fait pour durer; un peu déçu des oreillettes et coussinets qui sont de qualité moindre et on a l'impression qu'ils peuvent facilement s'user, à utiliser avec précaution.
Le cable malheureusement non détachable, est par contre de très bonne qualité torsadé et très long, c'est un point positif.
Je les ai utilisé pendant plusieurs heures, pas de ressenti de fatigue auditif, le son est excellent ( par rapport au DT 770 pro 80 ohms ), je trouve que le son est clair après avoir écouté mes compilations de musique ( métal, acoustique, jazz, classique)
Pas encore testé lors de mes enregistrements, mais je pense qu'il fera du bon travail.
En conclusion : je recommande ce casque Audio / après être vraiment frustré des beyerdynamic

I've had my Sennheiser HD-280 Pro since 2008. They've been with me everywhere I went and they're still with me.

1. They sound good.
2. they isolate well (Perfect when recording vocals)
3. They fit larger ears.
4. I like that they're 64 Ohms so you can use them with PC/Phone or as monitors when recording and get good volume.

I have experience with Beyerdynamic 770 Pro and Audio Technica MX50. Both good headphones, but I prefer the HD-280 because they sit tight on the ears and to my taste sound better (The AT MX50 have smaller earcups and don't fit my ears that well).

I just bought two extra pairs of these, so now I own 3 pairs. They're that good :)

Wegen der Pandemie habe ich mich dazu entschlossen, die Zeit zu nutzen um die Aufnahmen unseres Garagenstudios endlich einmal komplett durchzugehen und aufzuarbeiten.
Zwar sind einige Kopfhörer vorhanden, doch irgendwie hatte ich immer den Eindruck dass ich um etwas beschummelt werde, also habe ich die Sammlung um den Sennheiser HD-280 Pro ergänzt.

Dass bei Thomann der Versand blitzschnell und die Verpackung tadellos ist, braucht man hier eigentlich nicht mehr zu erwähnen.

Doch dann kam der grosse Augenblick, eine der Lieblings-CDs (aus den 90ies) eingelegt, Start gedrückt - und was für ein Schreck! Die Höhen scheppern und alles hört sich an wie aus dem Schuhkarton, die neuen Kopfhörer müssen defekt sein, was für eine Enttäuschung.
Nachdem der Schock überstanden war, versuchte ich doch weitere CDs und bei der Dritten kam die grosse Erleichterung: alles gut, der Klang passt.

Fazit:
Die Sennheiser HD-280 Pro Kopfhörer entlarven gnadenlos Material, welches nicht gut gemastert wurde.
Auch verlustreiche Formate können zur Qual werden und somit den Einsatzbereich einschränken, was jedoch bestimmt nicht ein Fehler der Kopfhörer ist.
In dieser Preislasse scheint mir das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ausgezeichnet.

Lediglich die Ohrmuscheln drücken etwas, kann aber auch sein dass meine Ohren aussergewöhnlich gross sind und noch etwas Zeit zum Kennenlernen brauchen...

En cuanto al sonido que ofrecen sólo diré que está sobradamente a la altura para unos auriculares dentro de esta gama de precios, así como el aislamiento. Felicidades a los ingenieros de Sennheiser!

No obstante, en cuanto a la fabricación podían haberse esmerado un poco más:

- El acabado del plástico es lamentable; vale que el plástico siempre es plástico, pero es que éste parece que se vaya a romper por mala calidad. Supongo que será meramente una cuestión estética. Revisaré esta valoración en unos meses.

- En la descripción dice que las almohadillas son "plegables y giratorias" cuando debería decir que son "plegables o giratorias", ya que no permite hacer ambas cosas. De ser así, podrían quedarse en una mínima expresión para su transporte.

-También dice que el cable es intercambiable cuando en realidad no lo es; parece un problema pequeño, pero... ya que el cable en espiral supone casi un 40% del peso total de los auriculares. Al no ser intercambiable, no sólo hace más dificultosas las posibles reparaciones sino que, además, limita considerablemente la comodidad en el uso frente a largas sesiones. Si fuese ciertamente intercambiable, el uso de un cable más ligero los haría mucho más cómodos.

Kriteerini DJ-kuulokehankinnalle olivat hyvä äänenlaatu, kääntyvät kupit, hyvä eristävyys, mutta ennen kaikkea kierrekaapeli. DT 770 Pro:n kaltaisen luurin ongelmana on jaloissa roikkuva johto, joka ei keikkatilanteissa ole käytännöllistä. Lisäksi arvostan sitä että kupit ovat riittävän suuret, jotta korvaan kohdistuva paine ei ole pitkässä käytössä piinaava. Pitkällisen etsinnän ja useiden arvostelujen lukemisen päätteeksi päädyin HD-280 Prohon. Tiedossa oli että äänenlaadultaan kuulokkeiden stereokuva ei ole samankaltainen kuin studioluureissa, kuten esim. DT 770 Prossa. Sen sijaan soundi on neutraali, hieman bassovoittoinen ja hyvällä tavalla napakka, kuten DJ-luureissa on syytä ollakin. Hintalaatu on hyvin kohdallaan.
