Top quality, great sound (nice & bassy), lovely feel, looks cool imo and I’m really happy with the bass.
The gig bag is for a full scale bass, but it does the job 🤓

Kleiner Bass, groß im Sound

Ich spiele den Sandberg Florence Bass nun seit einiger Zeit und er hat sich zu meinem Lieblingsinstrument entwickelt.
Durch die kurze Mensur kann man sich nach kurzer Eingewöhnung völlig entspannen. Da die Saitenspannung niedriger ist als bei meinem Preci habe ich anfangs etwas zu stark rein gelangt, wobei es dann zu leichten Verstimmungen kam ;-).

Die Werkseinstellung ist perfekt und man kann sofort loslegen. Die Werksbesaitung gefällt mir, obwohl ich eher auf etwas dickere Saiten stehe.
Leider verlieren die Saiten schnell ihren Höhenanteil.

Insgesamt ist die Verarbeitung hervorragend, wobei ich mir etwas mehr Liebe beim Softaging gewünscht hätte. Für mich sah es so aus, als wenn jemand kurz einmal lieblos mit Hammer und Nagel auf dem Bass herum geklopft hat. Insgesamt ist das Finish aber trotzdem gut. Die Bundabrichtung und Saitenlage ebenfalls. Alles fühlt sich geschmeidig und wertig an.

Zum Sound: Der Bass schiebt ohne Ende!! Vor allen Dingen im Tiefmitten- Bereich setzt sich der Sandberg super durch, ohne zu matschen. Die Höhen etwas zurückgenommen und über einen SVT gibt es keine Fragen mehr. Der Gitarrist meiner Band hatte für seinen Sound viel Luft und freute sich über die flatternden Hosenbeine. Im Bandkontext eines Trios, wo man naturgemäß immer etwas breiter spielen muss, eine super Sache!
Bei Aufnahmen direkt ins Pult liegt der Sandberg in den Frequenzen etwas unterhalb meines Precis, was man mögen muss. Wer auf einen super cleanen Sound steht, kommt hierbei aber nicht auf seine Kosten. Den Mudbucker- Sound bei gezogenem Höhenregler nutze ich eigentlich nicht, ist aber nett, wenn man einen dumpfen Bass Sound möchte.
Insgesamt also beide Daumen nach oben für einen nicht sehr vielseitigen, aber super spielbaren und fett klingenden Bass.

Geweldige shortscale bass

Heb “maar” zes masnden hoe en wachten op deze Sandberg. Dat wachten werd weer beloond in bijna alle opzichten. De soft aging bewerking is het niet voor mij. Daarentegen zijn de hals, de hardware, het geluid, het gewicht (licht!) fantastisch. De extra humbucker feature maakten in mijn (65+- gehoor) onvoldoende verschil. De besperlbaarheid is echter geweldig. Als je van een soft aged uiterlijk houdt, is deze shortscale een absolute aanrader.
