Almost great and some issues

Played with freshly strung guitars: Schecter KM7 (stock) and PRS with SD Sentient/Pegasus (medium output, aggressive!), and I compared this pedal to the G3 (v2) anniversary edition.
This G3 (v1) Black Spark LTD just doesn't have enough precision for modern metal riffing. It sounds excellent as a lead pedal where you don't need aggressive highs, but, overall, even with the High knob at maximum it lacks high frequency definition and is quite bassy/boomy (where the muddiness is below the Low knob's freq control). However, it can sound amazing if you make sure you're playing a relatively bright rig (or toneshape into it with EQ/treble boost). Otherwise, it will just result in a fleece-blanket-over-the-speaker sound.

Finally, this sparkly edition really looks amazing, but two of my unit's violet pots' white index marks were offset from center, which just looks sloppy for a €222 pedal. More importantly, my unit had an issue with the Mid pot; the pot is physically there, but really does nothing to the mid range (I checked this with an oscilloscope).

Modern high gain pedal

Pédale exceptionnelle. Peut être utilisée en tant que preamp, en tant canal high gain, allant directement sur l'étage de puissance de l'ampli. Ou, simplemment, en tant que pédale de distorsion, devant l'ampli, à dépendre de l'ampli car elle à un débit brutal et n'est pas aimée de tout ampli.
Son très moderne, pas besoin d'une overdrive devant pour serrer un peu le son. Elle se situe entre la distortion et l' "overdrive" à très haut gain, car on entend assez clairement les nuances et dynamismes de l'instrument, même à un niveau de saturation maximum.
Très appréciable pour du rock et surtout pour du metal, mais en ce qui concerne ce dernier, il faut savoir qu'elle est plus adaptée à la prog metal ou au djent qu'aux styles plus traditionnels (death, black), car moins massive et moins boueuse que les pédales les plus connues pour le style.
Très, beau son. À la fois délicat, élégant et brutal...

Distorsione super versatile

Questo pedale è veramente una perla. Ha così tante opzioni da poter creare praticamente quasi qualsiasi tono, dal crunch al demo Black Metal ultra distorto. E' uno dei pedali con più hi-gain in circolazione, unico difetto che ho trovato infatti è che anche col Gain a 0 distorce parecchio. Senz'altro comunque è un'opzione molto solida per avere distorsioni corpose e sferraglianti.

Excellent modern distortion

This is one of the best distortion pedal existing. The distortion is always nice, never harsh. Controls are effective and useful. Build quality seems good. This special edition looks great.
