Nachdem ich vor Jahrzehnten den Denis Wick Practice Mute gespielt habe (wir hatten ja nix anderes! :-) , wollte ich wissen, ob der offensichtliche Nachbau vielleicht was besser kann. Kurz gesagt: nein. Alles, was mich am Wick gestört hat - etwas mumpfige Ansprache, nasaler Sound, kaum vorhandenes Slotting, und dabei nicht einmal besonders leise - , hat auch der Protec.
Die Pluspunkte: Schön verarbeitet, leicht und kompakt, hält gut im Schallbecher, sehr günstig.
Ich behalte ihn trotzdem, weil er durch seine Schwächen auch meine offensichtlich macht. Wenn man nicht sehr präzise spielt, schwimmt der Sound davon, wenn man alles richtig macht, funktioniert es hörbar besser. Ist quasi ein Trainings-Tool.
Mein Liebling ist trotzdem nach wie vor der Sssssshhh-Mute - da bleiben für mich keine Wünsche offen.
