The MOTU 16 A (2025) is the world's first Thunderbolt 4/USB4 audio interface, completely redesigned for the latest generation and providing everything needed to turn a computer into a powerful 24-bit/192kHz audio workstation. It features a built-in AVB switch with two Gigabit Ethernet ports, making it possible to connect multiple 16A units using standard network cables, and an external AVB switch can also be added to expand the network, allowing multiple interfaces and computers to operate together with extremely low network latency. Even over long cable runs of several hundred metres, the system maintains reliable, low-latency communication across the network.
Outstanding sound quality
The MOTU 16A (2025) can be used as an audio interface or standalone mixer, with 32 separate inputs and 34 outputs, including 16 balanced analogue 1/4" jack connections at line level, two banks of eight-channel optical inputs and outputs, and a front-panel headphone output. Network management makes it possible to detect and control multiple devices, while CueMix Pro provides control room functions such as talkback and A/B/C monitor selection. Operation is straightforward, with two 3.9" displays providing an overview of all inputs and outputs, while flexible patchbay routing allows any source signal to be assigned to any destination.

The MOTU 16A (2025) is designed for professional sound engineers, producers, and studios that need to manage a large number of analogue signals, making it well suited to recording and mixing bands with numerous live sources, large synthesizer setups, complex analogue systems, and modular configurations. It provides flexible, high-resolution, and low-latency signal distribution via Thunderbolt, USB, or AVB networks, supported by an integrated DSP mixer and extensive routing options. Studio producers can use the interface to connect and monitor multiple hardware synths, drum machines, and external effects units, while recording studios can integrate analogue preamps and mixing desks into their digital workflow. In live applications and modular setups, the AVB network capability allows multiple channels to be expanded and streamed via a single CAT cable.

The US manufacturer of digital audio hardware from Cambridge, Massachusetts, was founded in 1981 and since then has continued to generate attention for its sophisticated and innovative concepts. Wireless control
The MOTU 16A can be controlled wirelessly using the compatible CueMix Pro app, which provides access to all of the interface's functions, including device settings, signal routing, 64-channel mixing, and effects. Available for macOS, Windows, and iOS, CueMix Pro can be used simultaneously on multiple devices, accessing the 16A via WiFi for convenient remote control. The app can also function as a 1722.1 controller, providing access to AVB-related settings on compatible third-party devices connected to the same network. This makes it possible to manage the 16A and associated AVB equipment from a single software environment without being tied to the front panel.
