Great Improvement New Gen V7 JB

Being a Fender bassit I had already owned a previous Marcus Miller Sire V7 Jazz Bass. To me this plays almost like a precission with the Jazz neck feel also with the vintage 70's sound. The control plate will get some time getting used too. But it sound great in active mode using stock DR Dragon strings improving the bass sound using stock Marcus Super-J Revolution

Ik ben voorstander van eenvoud en dus fan van Sire V5 & P5R. Het zijn fantastische bassen die aan mijn wensen voldoen. Heb mij toch laten verleiden door deze V7, hoewel ik niet wist welke meerwaarde die zou hebben. Wel, de grote verrassing is er bij het eerste contact: deze V7 is stukken lichter dan de V5, en beter uitgebalanceerd. Het feit dat hij actief is, maakt dat de klank er ook iets beter uitkomt in het samenspel. Het is wel wennen aan de vele knoppen (daar komt voor mij de waarde van de 5-serie naar boven). Super bas, zeer aanbevolen.

A ver, me encanta el sonido. El bajo luce precioso, es cómodo y está bien balanceado. Al llegar tuve que ajustar el truss rod y la acción, pero fue cosa de cinco minutos.
Lo que no me gusta nada son los potenciómetros: son de plástico barato y se nota. Además, el volumen y el tono comparten un potenciómetro concéntrico, y al girar uno se mueve un poco también el otro. Probablemente los cambiaré. Por el precio que tiene el bajo, habría sido razonable esperar unos controles de mejor calidad.
Dicho esto, es un detalle que no impide que sea un instrumento estupendo y muy agradable de tocar.
Me lo quedo sin duda alguna.
