Seriously Good Mouthpiece
Been using the K&G 1D for a couple of months now...
Potted history: Originally switched from a Denis Wick 2, to a K&G 3D (and tried a few others...)
- DW2 - was uncomfortable
- K&G 3D - Initially OK - but could not produce a large enough sound on lower-middle registers
So tried the K&G 1D for Tenor Horn - this is now my mouthpiece of choice !!!
- Comfortable rim
- Deep cup allows for loud playing with a good round sound and without any distortion...
- Nice round sound throughout the range i.e. on lower, middle and upper registers - and pedals!!!
Compared to the 3D - the 1D is better
- Upper register notes are still accessible with a good quality sound
- Can now reach pedal notes with ease
- Can produce more volume on lower and middle registers
Still don't like the engraving on the outer rim - but can live with this.
