Powerful and versatile

The IK Multimedia iLoud MTM MKII is the second generation of a remarkably compact near-field monitor, and builds on the strengths of its predecessor with a range of thoughtful refinements. Updated drivers provide greater clarity through the mid-range, while improvements to the off-axis response, DSP, and room correction contribute to a more balanced listening experience. As before, this two-way near-field monitor includes fully automatic calibration, a feature that continues to set it apart in its class. Its dual mid-bass drivers and bass-reflex design deliver deep low-end extension well suited to modern productions, and the flexible positioning options, together with the rear-panel XLR combo input, make it easy to integrate into almost any studio setup.

Automatic calibration and EQ presets included

The IK Multimedia iLoud MTM MKII features a 1" tweeter and two 3.5" mid-bass drivers powered by a Class D amplifier, with a crossover frequency of 2.8kHz and a frequency response spanning 48Hz to 28kHz. Automatic calibration is supported by the included ARC measurement microphone, which connects directly to the speaker and comes with a microphone clip for accurate positioning during the calibration process. Equaliser presets for High Shelf, Low Shelf, Desktop, and LF Extension make it possible to adjust frequencies below 100Hz and above 8kHz to better suit the listening environment. Around the rear, an XLR combo input accepts both XLR and 6.3mm (1/4") jack connections, making it straightforward to connect the monitor to a DAW, mixing console, or multitrack recorder for monitoring duties.

Optimised sound at the touch of a button

The IK Multimedia iLoud MTM MKII is well suited to aspiring professionals, hobby producers, and content creators seeking a compact monitoring solution for a small but high-performance studio. Its straightforward calibration process can be completed at the touch of a button using the supplied measurement microphone, making it quick and easy to adapt the speaker to the room's acoustics. An adjustable table stand, included as standard, provides flexible positioning with a listening angle of between 0 and 20º. The redesigned mid-bass drivers introduced with the second-generation model reveal fine sonic detail more clearly during mixing, while the improved horizontal dispersion creates a wider sweet spot and a more even response within the listening environment.

About IK Multimedia

IK Multimedia was founded in 1996 in the city of Modena in northern Italy. Its two founders, both musicians and engineers, joined forces with the aim of emulating electronic circuits using computer algorithms. Today, IK Multimedia is a multinational company with seven subsidiaries in Italy, the UK, Japan, Mexico, Brazil, Hong Kong, and the USA and exclusively manufactures products which are perfectly tailored to the needs of musicians, true to its motto "Musicians first".

Improved performance

The IK Multimedia iLoud MTM MKII builds on the performance of its predecessor with higher maximum sound pressure levels and a significant increase in processing power. Its DSP now operates at a 96kHz sample rate, providing greater transparency and improved resolution, while the enhanced room correction delivers more accurate results across a wider range of listening environments. For use with an optional subwoofer, the LF Extension preset can be activated by pressing and holding the corresponding button until all three LEDs illuminate, routing frequencies below 80Hz to the subwoofer. When used as a stereo pair, positioning the monitors in a 30º stereo triangle helps create an optimum sweet spot for critical listening.

In the spotlight: Fully automatic calibration

The IK Multimedia iLoud MTM MKII is designed to compensate for frequency imbalances caused by a room's architecture and surface materials, helping to create a more accurate monitoring environment. Calibration begins once the monitor has been positioned and connected, with the supplied measurement microphone placed at the listening position, its "On" LED facing upwards, and connected directly to the speaker. Holding down the Cal/Preset button initiates a sequence of sweep tones that analyses the room's acoustic characteristics. When the process has finished, a green LED on the front panel confirms that calibration is complete and the monitor is ready for operation.

My Honest Take
saymory 27.02.2025
After years of working in different studios and using a wide range of studio monitors, I recently found myself in a completely new situation—moving into a house in Portugal that is far from an ideal acoustic environment for music production. Despite this, I’m already finishing my next project here, and to my surprise, I’m achieving great sound and clarity without a fully treated room.

Of course, experience plays a big role, but what really impressed me is the quality of these monitors for the price. The level of detail, the balanced frequency response, and most importantly, the ability to tweak the settings to match the room’s characteristics make them incredibly versatile.

I wasn’t expecting such precision and depth in this price range, but these monitors have exceeded my expectations. If you’re looking for reliable, adaptable, and well-balanced speakers that can handle different acoustic environments, I’d definitely recommend checking them out.

k
From Micro to MTM MKII – and a big step forward in my musical journey
kfir 15.07.2025
After using the iLoud Micro Monitors for a long time, I decided to upgrade to the iLoud MTM MKII—and it honestly feels like I’ve unlocked a whole new level of clarity and inspiration in my setup.

These monitors deliver an impressive sense of depth, tight low-end, and detailed stereo imaging that I wasn’t getting before. Even without using ARC (I didn’t run the calibration), they still sound incredibly balanced in my untreated room. The bass is focused and punchy, yet controlled—something that really helps when building grooves or checking mixes.

What makes them special to me is how they helped me reconnect with music after a long period of creative stagnation. I’ve been slowly rebuilding my routine, from daily piano practice to working on synth ideas again, and these monitors have made that process smoother and more enjoyable. I trust what I hear, which helps me stay in the flow instead of second-guessing every sound.

They’re compact, easy to place, and surprisingly powerful for their size. If you’re upgrading from smaller monitors like the iLoud Micro, you’ll immediately feel the difference. For me, it was the right move—and a motivating one.

J
Très bons moniteurs
JPSP 08.01.2025

DK
This is the best sound I have.
Dmytro K. 25.03.2026
I've been using iLoud micro monitors for a long time, over eight years, but I decided it was time for an upgrade and chose the MTM MK2. They're slightly larger than micro monitors and no longer have Bluetooth, but they give me the ability to adjust the sound thanks to the included measurement microphone. They sound much more detailed, with deeper bass and a clearer midrange. Instrumental attacks are much more audible with these monitors, and they're louder overall. The main reason I bought them is that they're still compact, and the speakers are protected by metal grilles, so I don't have to worry about them getting damaged on the road. They give me very high-quality sound that I can take with me to my next temporary residence. Who would I recommend these monitors to? Primarily, those who need high-quality sound while still maintaining portability and compactness.
