It's my first Gibson as I've only played Fender Strats for almost 2 decades now and a few cheaper guitars before that. The feel on the neck is very different from my Strats (in a good way). The neck feels more slick and as a whole the guitar feels easier to play. I noticed I can play slightly faster on this than my Strats. The action was quite low when it came which is fine, I might in time slightly raise it I'll see how it goes. As for the sound, it's exactly what I expected and wanted. Plugged into the Marshall Sv20h its lovely. The quality was very good and I have seen no defects at all. The gig bag is thick and of good quality, I was impressed with it. Overall I'm very happy with it, I have no regrets. Now that Ive got a studio and am happy with it I'll eventually go for the Standard in time (must convince my wife which wont be easy). If you are looking for an excellent quality Gibson Les Paul with great pickups and at a slightly cheaper price than a Standard, this is the way to go. The finish is really beautiful too.
