Wer so eine Gitarre kauft, will keine Paula, keine SG, auch keine Tele oder Strat. Sondern genau sowas.
Man kann wie J Mascis rocken (Dinosaur Jr) oder wie Rowland S. Howard jaulen (okay, der hatte eine Jaguar, aber trotzdem).
Die tiefe und die hohe E-Saite habe geschnarrt, aber zwei Drehungen am Steg-Reiter, und fertig.
Der Tremolo-Hebel wird nicht reingeschraubt, sondern nur gesteckt. Man gewöhnt sich aber dran.
Tausend Knöpfe und Schieberegler - nötig wären sie nicht, aber ohne würde etwas fehlen.
Hatte schonmal eine Fender Jazzmaster, hatte zu viele Gitarren, und sie kam weg. Hat aber gefehlt. Jetzt ist wieder eine da. Hallelujah.
Ein passendes Tweed-Case wäre das Sahnehäubchen.

Wer Surf Sound sucht, wird ihn bekommen. Diese Gitarre macht mir unglaublich viel Spaß, einerseits des Spielens wegen, andererseits, weil ich sehr viel über Offset Gitarren von Fender gelernt habe, neue Bridge, Neckshim usw... die Einstellung von Thomann war GRAUENHAFT. Wirklich Thomann, was habt ihr denn da veranstaltet. Ich habe nochmals einiges an Geld und Zeit investiert (was, wie gesagt, auch eine positive Seite hat, ich kenne mich jetzt aus) aber das geht überhaupt nicht und hätte ich mich nicht so in diese Gitarre verliebt, dann hätte ich sie wieder zurückgegeben. Auch wenn es deutlich teurere Alternativen von Fender gibt, so sind es immerhin 1200 Euro die man blecht und das ist kein Billiginstrument, eine gewisse Verarbeitung und Voreinstellung wurde also erwartet und nicht erfüllt.
Alles in allem ein absolutes Herzensprodukt, wenn Thomann mal den hauseigenen Gitarreneinstellern in den Allerwertesten treten würde, sodass sie sich mit diesen Gitarren besser befassen. Eine Jazzmaster muss nicht schlecht zu spielen und ekelhafte Nebengeräusche haben (Mitarbeiter sagte: das ist halt bei der Gitarre so) NEIN ist es NICHT, wenn man weiß was man zu tun hat und sie richtig einstellen zu weiß.
Also: 7,25er Mustangbridge kaufen, Neckshim kaufen und selbst informieren und einstellen, dann läuft die Klampfe und macht einfach nur Spaß, sowohl Clean mit Reverb Surf rocken, als auch den Rythm Modus der Jazzmaster nutzen und jazzig cleane Nummern spielen, sowie verzerrt ballern, einfach eine Ohrenweide.

The guitar is very well made, perfectly finished frets, the neck is very comfortable to play, and with a very successful pickups to that characteristic timbre in the middle position with both pickups activated, as a curiosity, it weighs a little more compared to my other 6 Jazzmasters, except for an original that I have from 1974, but rest assured that it does not weigh like a Les Paul.
The only drawback, in my case, which can be solved with a screwdriver and a ruler, is that the pickups came a little bit higher than they should and saturated a little bit, but as soon as I lowered them to their place they sound great.
It also has that wonderful desert sand color, color that was applied to Fender Music Master and Duo Sonic guitars in the mid 50's and never used in Jazzmasters that gives it a very personal touch.
If you are looking for the essence of a Fender Jazzmaster from the late 50's, early 60's this is your guitar.
