Durable, great sounding
I was always a Remo guy, but I wanted to try something new and EVANS was the first choice. I am a heavy hitter so this drumhead is definitely for drummers like me. The sound is perfect, the dot on the center gives you nice controlled sound, if you wanna dry sound you still have to use some moongel etc., but for my use a perfect drumhead I give it a 5/5!

“Cranked” For Sound, Feel & Response
First time purchase of this drum head. Bought specifically for a newly purchased Sonor 14”x6.5” Prolite Chrome Over Brass Ltd Edition snare drum, also from Thomann.
It was bought in anticipation that this snare may produce more overtones than I wanted and this head would tame them.
I have tightened, some would say “cranked”, the head to very high tuning. This has given me the articulation, feel and response that I need for the music I’m gigging. Crack when struck in the middle, with the option of timpani style licks with rimshots at the edge of the head. I felt that looser tuning produced a noticeable lazy response from the head, which I had to fight for articulate beats; it may be by design for straight backbeat playing.
I am happy with this head “cranked” high, gigging with it and I’ll leave it on until it wears out

Sound and quality
The sound is great!
More specific... i love the variety of tone depending on where you hit the snarehead. It is also real easy to control volume.
It has been more than a year, i think, but the quality and sound is still amazing.

a bit limited
This head is truly heavyweight and should last an eternity. However, I find its uses a bit limited. It works well for hard hitting styles such as extreme metal, but at lesser intensities it sounds a bit to muted for my taste.

Absolute neck-snapper
Need punch? Check. Need snap? Check. Need durability? Check. Makes a cheap snare sound great? Check.
Seriously, it doesn't matter what style you play, this head is incredible!

Excellent snare batter head!
This is built to withstand hard hitting drumming while getting very good control on unwanted overtones!

Amazing product
I firstly bought it because I heard that this is what Joy Weinberg uses and I loved it. It is an incredible product with excellent sound, although I can not comment on the durability, I only had it for a limited amount of time but so far it holds up pretty good
