The EarthQuaker Devices Afterneath Enhanced Otherworldly Reverberator V3 is the third generation of the company's experimental ambient reverb pedal, inviting adventurous musicians to explore seemingly endless depths, from classic reverb tails to pitch-modulated effects. Cast the perfect spell
Alongside regular reverb controls such as Mix and Length, the EarthQuaker Devices Afterneath V3 features several parameters that shape its distinctive character. Diffuse adjusts the spread of the reverb, from sharp early reflections to a smooth ambient wash; Reflect governs feedback and regeneration, while Dampen controls brightness. The Drag control adjusts the spacing between individual digital delay lines, producing dense reverberation when brought closer together or scattered, distinct echoes when spread apart. Its response can be altered using the Mode dial, which offers nine settings: Unquantized, Unquantized with Slew, Unquantized Volt/Octave, Chromatic, Major, Minor, Pentatonic, Octaves & Fifths, and Octaves.

Built for the demands of regular stage use, the EarthQuaker Devices Afterneath V3 is housed in a heavy-duty metal chassis that makes it fully roadworthy. Its electronic Flexi-Switch technology allows both standard latching and momentary operation, activating the effect for as long as the footswitch is held down and bypassing it again when released. The Afterneath uses electronic buffered bypass, with the buffer remaining active even when the effect is switched off. At the same time, the "Tails" function allows the reverb tails to fade out gradually after bypassing the effect, with the wet signal naturally decaying to silence.
