A-102 Diode Low Pass Filter (LPF)

I bought the the A-102 Diode LPF as a companion to my A-108 filter. Where the A-108 delivers a smooth powerful and predictable sound, the A-102 is very different. Turning up the resonance on the A-102 results in a warm distortion mixed with static like you get between AM radio stations. Apparently each A-102 unit will sound different from the next, due to variations in the diodes that form the heart of the filter. I really like the idea that each A-102 is in some way unique.

Highly recommended, but perhaps not as your only filter!

Great filter. High quality build like all of the other Doepfer modules. Really mellow with resonance turned down, but it can really scream when the resonance is cranked! well worth ?77!

Nach meiner Suche nach einem EMS-ähnliches Filter für mein Doepfer A-100 Modularsystem, habe ich mich für das, im Vergleich zu anderen Anbietern, äußerst preisgünstige A-102 von Dieter Doepfer entschieden. Im Direktvergleich, bei ähnlich gepatchter Schaltung mit meinen EMS-Synthi A wurde ich dann auch sehr positiv überrascht. Zwar nicht ganz 1:1, ist halt kein Original EMS-Filter, aber für meine Bedürfnisse fürs A-100 System völlig zufriedenstellend. Das Ergebnis kommt doch schon sehr nah an den EMS heran. Wer also ein sehr günstiges EMS-artiges Filter sucht, dem kann ich das A-102 bedenkenlos empfehlen. Es müssen natürlich auch weitere Module, ähnlich der EMS-Schaltung vorhanden sein, um das "echte" EMS-Feeling zu bekommen.
