Excellent, if pricey. You get what you pay for

I first encountered these strings on a bass of one of my jazz teachers. They are supple and clear. Great sound for pizzicato.
I use the same bass for classical too - orchestra and solo work. They are excellent here too, they have a lovely sustain to them.
Whenever other people try this bass, they always comment on how good the strings are - they're right. The bass itself is not brilliant quality but good enough and these strings have made a really big difference, I used to have Pirastro (not sure which model) and these Zyex give me a brighter, cleaner sound with more sustain.
If you can afford them, they're well worth it. They make a 2000 Euro instrument sound and play like a 7000 Euro one.

DADDARIO erfindet hier nichts neues. Ich würde sie eher in Richtung Pizz.-Saiten einordnen. Starker, fetter, kräftiger und dennoch heller Ton mit gleichzeitig gutem, geschmeidigen Spielgefühl. Der Sound geht leicht in Richtung Darmsaite. Einzig beim Arco-Spiel hätte ich mir eine leichtere Ansprache und einen satteren Ton erhofft. Aber man kann nicht alles haben. Auf jeden Fall sind sie ihr Geld wert!!

Les Zyex sont des cordes qui ont beaucoup de rondeurs, qui donnent plus de volume à la contrebasse en pizz comme arco. Facile à déclencher à l'archet. J'ai vraiment une autre basse. J'en suis très content !!!
