Ich spiele mittlerweile auf fast all meinen Bässen Flatwounds. Für meine MusicMan Kopie wollte ich aber etwas brillantere Saiten haben. Da bei den Flatwounds die D'Addario Chrome 81 meine erste Wahl sind, entschied ich mich als "Mittelding" zwischen Flatwounds und Roundwounds für die Halfrounds. Ich habe die Entscheidung nicht bereut. Der Ton ist schön voll und rund, es sind aber wesentlich mehr Höhen als bei Flatwounds vorhanden.

Ein Freund von mir spielt seit 18 Jahren mit ein und dem seleben Satz Halfrounds auf seinem Precision Bass. Mittlerweile geht der Sound wohl mehr in Richtung Flatwounds - aber die Wechselzeit ist eindeutig niedriger als bei Roundwound Saiten. So rechnet sich auch der relativ hohe Anschaffungspreis auf die Einsatzzeit gesehen.

Ich kann die Halfrounds jedem empfehlen, der von Roundwounds weg will und dem Flatwounds zu wenig Höhen haben.

Au niveau du toucher, la sensation est intermédiaire également, plus métallique que les cordes à filets plats polies.
Elles accrochent cependant trop, ce qui n'entrave cependant pas les glissements et favorise le jeu rapide au doigts. Je les ai rapidement polies à la laine de fer et le problème est réglé.
Enfin, elles seraient parfaites à mon goût avec un tirant et une tension plus élevés, mais ça, c'est plutôt une affaire de goût et de style.

Ho montato queste corde sul mio basso a 5 corde e il suono e il feeling dello strumento sono migliorate in modo impressionante, queste sono divenute "le mie corde preferite", non ne monterò altre.

Per chi suona generi non estremi le consiglio vivamente, hanno un bel suono, stanno tese senza essere troppo dure (difetto che purtroppo hanno spesso le corde lisce), sono silenziosissime (niente rumore di scorrimento delle dita).

Un eccellente prodotto, suonano bene come le ruvide senza i difetti delle corde ruvide (rumorosità).

Un potenziale "difetto" è che non sono corde squillanti; danno al basso un suono profondo, pulito. Per la tecnica slap forsennata è meglio usare altre corde, oppure alzare un po' gli acuti sull'equalizzatore.

Queste sono corde da basso classico, da accompagnamento al gruppo, non le consiglierei ai bassisti "solisti".
