erstaunlich guter Dämpfer für seine geringe Grösse

Dieser Dämpfer kann auch im Koffer/Gigbag im Imstrument bleiben, da er fast vollständig im Schallstück verschwindet. Dafür hatte ich ihn auch gekauft, um immer einen Dämpfer im Orchester dabei haben zu können.
Positiv überrascht hat mich der gute Klang, die gute Ansprache und Intonantion. Nur in bei bei tiefen Tönen lässt er qualitativ nach. Die Verarbeitung ist auch sehr gut und die Korken halten bombenfest.
Der Klang ist dezent, aber immer noch zentriert und recht angenehm. Natürlich ist er nicht der lauteste und in der tiefen Lage ist muss man dann auch arbeiten. Aber bei einem geeigneten Stück, wo es nicht so auf die Lautstärke, ist er uneingeschränkt konzerttauglich. Er funktioniert deutlich besser auf Pumpventiltrompeten - finde ich -, für Drehventiltrompeten gibt es besser geeignete Dämpfer (aber es geht auch, wenn es sein muss).

Excellent, flexible mute for plunger work

I planned to use this only together with a plunger, when playing big band solos. It works nicely, and sounds like the old-fashioned H&B Pixie mute. Except, this one plays in tune!

In fact, it is so well in tune and sounds so good, that I have completely stopped using my DW aluminium straight, because this sounds just the same and takes less space in my bag.

The fit and finish is perfect, like you would expect from Best Brass.

The only complaint I have is the price, which is a little steep.

Qualità eccellente, super compatta e leggerissima. il suono non è il massimo in orchestra ma come pixie è eccellente. Intonazione ottima come tutte le Best Brass
